Wherever you're at is where you're *supposed* to be, right?
This post is where I acknowledge the irony & balance in life (or at the very least, reinforces that wherever you're at is where you're supposed to be, right?).
Fourteen years ago I landed a contract with Ford Models but bounced a few months later because— get this—I thought I was too "old" to start that career path.
Plus, I had a fresh junior graphic designer position waiting for me at a publishing company I interned at in college. See, the salaried job was the responsible choice and your girl had BILLS to pay (I grew up on the struggle bus and was *not* about to ride it again post graduation)
See also= fear.
So here I am, 14 years older, 15 pounds heavier, and freshly resigned from my position as a graphic design manager. Yes, I am going into business for myself— but what do we have here? I present to you my first comp card shots as a Modelogic Midwest model— you know, for that "wholesome mom" market.
God only knows where all this will lead, but here I am, back to where I started, only now I'm not doubting whatever comes my way.
