All in portfolio spotlight
This morning I was on WBEZ’s “Morning Shift” to discuss the website for Artist and Activist’s Tonika Johnson’s Folded Map project, which connects people living at the same addresses, just on opposite sides of this segregated city. I designed the inaugural site, and we talked that, but so much more. Click to listen, and/or check out the site!
United for change. United for good. #unitethesurge. JNJ Creative has a special spot in their hearts for this very special client: The Surge Institute. We are more than humbled to have played a small part honoring their good works and brilliance: by way of these custom caricatures for their inaugural Alumni convening in NOLA this year.
What good can you do with the good skills you have? This portfolio spotlight highlights Contextos— a non-profit that I collab’d with to produce professionally designed books for young Authors in their healing circle program—because everyone has a story. And everyone matters.
In honor of love—and because I just want to share what was at the time my most ambitious design project as I am certainly my most difficult client— this portfolio spotlight is all about our design work for our wedding 3 years ago. #fbf indeed.
Companies that wish to capitalize on the wealth that true diversity brings not only has to abandon tokenism, but authentically implement and sustain initiatives that attract, retain, and support the best and brightest from all corners of society—and celebrate that. I’m SO pleased to say that last night I was a part of one such celebration: JNJ Creative was hired by Facebook Chicago to provide art services for their Black@Chi launch event.
I know I LOVE working with clients on projects that not only capitalize on my skill set, but also makes me smile.
A happy client is a recurring client! Even better when you can feel good about working with them because they do good work. Welcome to the first post in the "portfolio spotlight" series: Surge.
